SIP offered tourists diverse experiences during the five-day May Day holiday. Statistics show that the Jinji Lake Scenic Area and Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort welcomed 1.81 million visitors during the holiday, a year-on-year increase of 8%. The combined income of 11 key hotels around Jinji Lake and Yangcheng Lake Peninsula reached RMB28.6 million. The visitor footfall peaked on May 2, with many hotels achieving full occupancy and an average occupancy rate exceeding 97%.
SIP took a series of measures to boost consumption during the holiday, including issuing the “Tour Around Cards (Zhuan Zhuan Ka)” which enabled the buyers to tour six major tourist attractions at favorable prices, and making a large amount of tourism vouchers available on its online travel service platform.
Various events like fairs and bazaars around Jinji Lake, which integrated artistic installations, parades and creative cultural products inspired by intangible cultural heritage, attracted lots of people. Eight major tourist product and service suppliers around Jinji Lake recorded a total operating income of RMB164 million.
Among other attractions were a number of art shows, sports events and exhibitions, such as the 2025 Jinji Lake Peach Flower Cultural Festival, the concert given by Suzhou Philharmonic Orchestra and Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, and the 2025 Chinese Football Boys Champion Invitational.
